COUPLE & FAMILY THERAPY

ALL ABOUT CO-THERAPY
Psychotherapy is an intervention, which aims to decrease the levels of distress and conflict experienced by individuals, couples, and families. Within this context, the client is the couple or the family, and the focus is on the relationship. When working with individuals, couples, and families, we use an integrative approach to meet the needs of each client.
There are multiple advantages to having two therapists present, including the ability to model healthy relational dynamics; to integrate our diverse resources and clinical backgrounds; to provide you with a more holistic approach; and to work with various different life-cycle stages creatively.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Using a systemic and humanistic approach as the foundation to our work with couples and families, we offer the additional support of integrating a co-therapy methodology to work through challenges particular to unhealthy relational dynamics. Working as a team, we are able to adapt our techniques to one that best suits your needs and goals.

Combining our diverse experiences in working with couples and families, we specialize in improving communication and conflict resolution. In addition, we have experience working with ADHD, behavioural challenges, sexuality, chronic illness, cultural sensitivity, and the use of play to adapt to your needs and to improve your quality of life.
Having two therapists present can facilitate discussion during a session and allow for the focus of attention to be shared or divided as needed. It permits the sharing of different strengths during family therapy and can provide an effective therapeutic context. Challenges can be addressed and solutions modelled collaboratively.
